Description
Replacement Keys provide a quick and convenient solution for restoring access to compatible Mailmaster letterboxes. Each set includes two keys and helps you replace lost or damaged keys without changing the entire lock.
PROVIDE FOLLOWING DETAILS FOR KEY IDENTIFICATION – PLEASE ENTER INTO COMMENTS FIELD WHEN ORDERING
- Details stamped on lock face, usually a 3-5 digit number, some include codes such as M1, CO. Lock/Key description; black handle, yellow handle, round lock face.
- If you have an image of the lock or key to send even better, please email this to shop@letterboxes.net.au
PLEASE SELECT POSTAGE & HANDLING IF DELIVERY IS REQUIRED
Delivery is via Australia Post for postal addresses only – please do not have it delivered to a letterbox you don’t have access to. If you do not have access to your mailbox, please have your keys posted to an alternate address, ie. work address, building manager, body corp, family, friend etc.
We can only offer a replacement key service (2 keys) for a limited number of mailboxes. This is typically our commercial mailbox systems as well as a select few locally made products. In cases where we are unable to supply keys, it can be easier to simply replace the lock (see replacement lock here).
How to remove old lock
- Take a drill with 5mm drill bit.
- Drill out the center of the lock until the barrel comes out.
- When the barrel is removed, take a flathead screwdriver and turn the inside of the lock to open it.
- Take the remainder of the lock out with a spanner or with a pair of needle nose pliers.
How to install new lock
- Make sure the tang is to the right and can move freely around to the bottom in a locking motion.
- Insert the lock through the hole in the door.
- Make sure it is pushed through far enough for the clips to go all the way.
- Use the pliers to push the clips out to ensure the new lock is firmly in place.
NOTE: WE CANNOT SUPPLY CC SERIES KEYS WHERE THE CC IS FOLLOWED WITH 4 DIGITS, WE CAN DO 3 DIGITS ONLY
